Book Review - That thing called LOVE

Although the title might be suggestive enough to send tingling effect up your spine and urge you to pick that one, let me warn you or rather update you, that "Tuhin Sinha" the writer is a first timer, and has mostly assisted story writers convert their plots into films and soap opera screenplays.

No doubt, the story telling skills with this guy is great, but then not all good things are worth an appreciation. As an individual reader and critic, I am nowhere in the mood to condemn his work, or just plainly regard it is as boring, but after you have read it, most will agree to my assumption that the guy tried to turn the table reverse by probably starting with a screenplay for a movie or a tele-series and had ended-up writing his first novel.

Like as always, the story starts and revolves around criss cross of entangled relations, but yeah this is really commendable that the persona of the characters has been portrayed flawlessly, and like the life as it goes in cities like mumbai where each face has multiple masks to wear and roles to play, the plethora of all such souls has been depicted using the bare-minimum lies.

The description of mumbai rains - about which our movies and now-a-days these news channels already talk about, has been reincarnated in a romantic and devillious avatar.

Sometime the story gets a bit un-realistic, but then for all of us, who haven't stepped into those shoes, imagining such plots can be hard nut to digest.

The guy seemed to have a good taste for poetry also as he has choicestly used some old song lines and urdu poetry in his chapters, which really suit the purpose of explaining the emotions.

Now i leave you with two lines and the choice whether to pick-up the book or not.

वोह अफसाना जिसे अंजाम तक लाना न हो मुमकिन
उसे एक खूबसूरत मोड़ दे कर छोड़ देना अच्छा.........

Happy Reading...........
